Specific 8 Ball Rules

  1. Safety may be called at any time, but not more than 3 times in a row
  2. 8 Ball pocketed legally on the break is a win
  3. Touching any ball other than cue ball or object ball is a foul and ball in hand
  4. Coaching is not allowed. After one warning, the referee will award ball in hand, or if blatant no warning will be given
  5. Breaking cue-stick before the game has finished is concession of game.
  6. All bank shots and combination shots must be called. NO exceptions.
  7. Scratching (not fouling) when attempting to play a shot on the 8 Ball is loss of match.

Tournament Rules

  1. The loser on each table should referee the next game.
  2. Each tournament will be designated as a maximum of 8, 16 or 32 players, depending on number of tables available and the time frame of the tournament.
  3. Entry fee per player will be announced for each tournament.
  4. Players must register and pay entry fee at least 20 minutes prior to the tournament. Places will be allocated on a first-come first serve basis.Those that pay in advance will automatically be included in the draw and only need to turn up at the start of the tournament.
  5. In the event of the full allocation of paying entrants not being achieved, wildcard, non-paying entrants that are present and registered as such at least 30 minutes before the draw is made will be allowed to play to make up the full allocation. Places will be allocated according to the rules of each individual venue. For ACEL, we will use Event Attendance points.
  6. Wildcard entrants will not be eligible to win prize money. Any money not paid will be allocated as additional prize money to the other players in 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
  7. Players will be awarded points depending on how far they progress in each tournament. The points schedule will depend on prize money and number of players, and will be published before the start of each tournament.
  8. All tournaments will be on a double elimination basis and drawn randomly.
  9. At the end of the tournament season the top 16 points winners will qualify for a free tournament with prize money and additional prizes TBA.
  10. Play will start at 6 pm unless otherwise stated

Who can play?

The tournament is open to all player grades.

 

Minimum Expenditure

You are required to spend a minimum of 200 PHP in drinks. If your bill is less than 200 PHP, there will be an additional charge to make your bill up to 200 PHP.

 

Awarding of Points - Please refer to the individual tournament to see if 8,16 or 32 player.

(32 player tournament):

1st place:  180 points

2nd place: 100 points

3rd place: 60 points

WG Semis: 40 points

WG QF: 20 points

LG SF: 10 points

1st place:  100 points

2nd place: 50 points

3rd place: 30 points

WG Semis: 20 points

WG QF: 10 points

LG SF: 5 points

(8 player tournament):

1st place:  60 points

2nd place: 25 points

3rd place: 15 points

WG Semis: 10 points

LG SF: 5 points

Money Prizes

Prize money will be awarded for first three places using the same ratio as points awarded. For example, for 16-player tournament, 1st place will get (100/180) * total prize money, 2nd place will get (50/180) * total prize money, and 3rd will get (30/180) * total prize money.

GOING BY TAXI/TRIKE?

Ask them to take you to the BACK of La Grande Residence and when you get off walk about 2 mins along the street (with the back of La Grande on your right) until you see Sky Blue Walls on your left.

GOING BY FOOT FROM PERIMETER BARS?

We are about 6 minutes walk from Candy Bar. Follow the side road next to Candy Bar and keep going until you see La Grande Residence. Keep going straight, then TURN RIGHT around the back of La Grande Residence. A few houses down you will see the Clubhouse with Sky Blue Walls.

COMING FROM BALIBAGO UP DON JUICO AVE?

1) Turn Left when you get to the Petron and drive through gas station then turn left onto road, then immediately right past Marquis Hotel
2) Turn right at the end of the road and continue until you reach La Grande Residence, then turn left onto the side road just before it.
3) Take the first right onto Mabini Street, passing round the back of La Grande Residence.
4 Continue for about 100 m until you see Sky Blue walls on the left (number 56)

DIRECTIONS FROM BRETTO'S DELI ON DON JUICO AVENUE.

1) Take the side road nest to Bretto's (Mount Makiling Street),
2) Keep going straight through several blocks until you come to a T-junction.
3) Turn Left and continue about 100m until you see a house with sky-blue walls and gate on the right-hand side.

DIRECTIONS FROM PREMIERE HOTEL:

1) Turn right out of the Premiere, then immediately left.
2) Turn right at the end of the road towards La Grande Residence..
3) Take the first left and then turn right, going around the back of La Grande Residence, past the car park and generator etc.
4) Continue for about 150 m until you see the Club House, with sky blue walls and gate.
