On Tuesday, November 19th we will be holding our committee meeting and Elections for one year starting Jan 1st 2020.

Anyone who has attended at least 3 Group Events is welcome to apply for one (or more) of the following committee posts:

  1. Chairperson

  2. Event Coordinator

  3. Vice Chairman

  4. Treasurer

  5. Secretary

  6. Membership Officer

  7. Publicity and Marketing Officer

  8. Inter-Group Liaison Officer

  9. Bar Liaison Officer

  10. Hotel/Restaurant/Other Businesses Liaison Officer

It is expected that some people will take on more than one role from (7) to (10), or possibly (5) and (6) will be combined.

If you would like to put yourself forward for election for one or more of the above posts, please send me a pm, with the numbers (1) to (10) of the posts you are applying for, IN ORDER OF PREFERENCE, by 5th November at the latest. We will then confirm whether you are illegible, and if so, invite you to the committee meeting.

We are also looking for Event Managers who will be responsible for arranging any activities within their area of interest, for example, badminton, chess, books, golf, hiking etc. Just tell us the activity you would like to be responsible for.

Anyone taking on a role of responsibility within the group will be given Silver Membership for the period of their tenure.

OUTLINE OF POSTS/ROLES RESPONSIBILITIES (THESE WILL BE MODIFIED THROUGH EXPERIENCE)


CHAIRPERSON
 Chairing meetings
 Creation of agenda for meetings
 Taking strategic decisions on the direction of the group in liaison with Business Owner and Group Creator
 Making decisions on spending/investing the Business money in liaison with Business Owner
 Taking committee votes where appropriate. Votes will be considered advisory only if they involve
spending of the business’s money
 Making the casting vote when number of votes is equal
 Liaising with and helping the Event Coordinator in creation of new Events.


EVENT COORDINATOR
 Creation of regular new events on Facebook and on the website, with the help of others where required.
 Sending out invites for new events.
 Liaising with Event Managers in creation of new Events.
 Investigation of ideas for new Events in collaboration with Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Event Managers
and Business owners.
 Recruitment of Event Managers and arranging and chairing of meetings with Event Managers.


VICE CHAIRPERSON
 Chairing committee meetings when chairperson is not present, and carrying out the
chairperson’s role at such meetings, taking into consideration the Business Owners rights on
spending of Business money
 Taking a free role in covering any areas which do not naturally fall into any other committee
members’ remits.
 Assisting any other committee members in carrying out their roles as deemed appropriate.


TREASURER
 Preparing the accounts for the business for submission to the BIR.
 Advising and reporting on financial matters to the committee.
 Banking and withdrawing money for the Group as appropriate.
 Holding group (non-business) money for events.


SECRETARY
 Taking minutes of Committee and Event Coordination meetings and writing these up for
publication.
 Publication of meeting minutes on the Facebook Group and on the website.
 Dealing with any Group administration requirements as required and agreed at Committee
meetings and elsewhere.


MEMBERSHIP OFFICER
 Administering the membership of the group, carrying out tasks such as removing members
not deemed appropriate for the group, or with a dead profile, putting it to Group vote
where they consider it appropriate.
 Leading on moderating the comments and posts in the group and contacting members
where appropriate about such comments and posts.
 Where appropriate, contacting prospective members of the group to remind them to
answer questions, or to make sure they are genuine.
 Liaising with the Publicity and Marketing Officer in recruiting new members.


PUBLICITY AND MARKETING OFFICER
 Leading the Group on all issues to do with publicising and advertising the group on the
various mediums
 Liaising with Event Coordinator (and, where appropriate, Inter-Group Liaison Officer) to help
publicise events.


INTER-GROUP LIAISON OFFICER
 Helping maintain good relationships (and where possible repairing relationships) with other
Angeles Facebook Groups.
 Helping publicize our events on other Groups where we decide it is appropriate.
 Look out for and where appropriate defend against and report libelous or untruthful
comments made our Group.
 Liaise with Event Coordinator and Event Managers on any Events of interest publicized on
other Groups.


BAR LIAISON OFFICER
 Making our Group known to Bar Owners/Bar Managers within Angeles City.
 Arranging discounts for members at local bars where possible.
 Liaising with Events Coordinator on Bar Events.


HOTEL/RESTAURANT/OB LIAISON OFFICER
 Making our Group known to Hotels/Restaurants and other businesses within Angeles City.
 Arranging discounts for members at hotels/restaurants, other businesses where possible.
 Liaising with Events Coordinator on Restaurant events.


BUSINESS OWNER
 Makes final decision on spending Business money.
 Makes final decision on making alterations to Abertawe Sports Bar


GROUP CREATOR
 Reserves the right to remove committee members for the best interests of the group
